ABOUT

Alemaedae Theater is a community based theater and entertainment production group, founded by Phil Davis Sr, that has been teaching and working with youth and young adults, as well as presenting positive events for all residents of WNY, since its foundation on March 11th, 2007. Alemaedae is responsible for programs such as: Annual Stomp the Yard Dance & Step Competition (2008 - 2010) which has donated over $4,000 to various dance and step teams in prize money, scholarships, as well as trophies and awards; and has given youth something positive to be a part of while gaining exposure on Channel 2 News, Buffalo News, and The Challenger. This has resulted in various teams to compete in other competitions and perform at colleges such as Hilbert College, and open up for music acts such as Diggy Simmons, Ron Isley etc.

Alemaedae Theater Productions (2007- Present) is responsible for hiring and training over 100 non experienced as well as experienced actors in the community to perform in various plays and touring pieces throughout WNY at Hilbert College, Arts Academy, Niagara University, Commercial Strip at Buffalo Place, Kleinhans Music Hall, and many other venues. In addition to training actors we have exposed them to working with other theater companies in WNY such as Ujima Company, Road Less Traveled, Subversive Theater, Shea’s etc.  A few of our actors have gone on to produce their own films, receive Artie Awards, and write ups in the Buffalo News, Challenger, Artvoice, Criterion, Black WNY, and Buffalo Rising for their work in our various productions.

We have also worked with various youth groups and organizations assisting them in creating original productions of their own, including but limited to "Star Kids" and "LOL (Leaving Our Legacy". Our productions have been used to raise money for foundations and not for profit organizations such as the Dominique Maye Foundation and Boys & Girls Club of WNY.  A few of our actors have gone on to star in popular TV shows on networks such as HBO, NBC, Showtime and Netflix and appear in major picture films such as Best Man Holiday, The Romans, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Marshall and others. In 2017, Alemaedae Theater Productions received a proclamation from the City of Buffalo. March 9th is "Alemaedae Day" in the city.
